"Mission work is for the whole family," declares Pastor Ef. "It's good that my wife shares my vision to evangelize the Chinese people. My two kids have the same burden, too, although my daughter has a soft spot for the Tibetans." The couple is unceasingly praying for more laborers in China - career missionaries or tentmakers - to go to the harvest field and bear fruit. "The challenge is always there," says Pastor Ef. Aside from training OFWs, Pastor Ef and Lu conduct evangelistic meetings in various schools in Hong Kong. In one elementary school, 95 percent of the student populace prayed to receive Christ as Lord and Savior, while 50 percent of the total population in one high school embraced the Gospel. Almost always, the couple's basic knowledge of Mandarin and Cantonese enables them to converse with the Chinese, wherever they may be. This linguistic plus factor has always been their passport to meaningful friendships that lead to genuine conversions. Note: * the names of the missionaries were changed for security purposes. |
